We had a camping trip planned for this past weekend, but unfortunately the weather forced us to cancel our plans. I was so excited to spend a weekend outdoors and to get some mountain biking in. I got my first migraine Saturday morning and it was absolutely one of the worst pains I’ve ever had! Thank goodness Tyler was home to take care of me until it passed. He really is amazing! 🙂

Sunday turned out to be a gorgeous day, so we decided to have a day date on the River Walk. We got a table right along the river; it was perfect! We even made a little duck friend, who was very persistent on having some of our lunch. The weather finally got below 70 degrees, so I wore my favorite leatherette leggings and a distressed tunic. It was so amazing to finally be able to wear long sleeves and pants and not get hot by mid-day. Fall has finally arrived in San Antonio and I am THRILLED! 🙂 This entire outfit is from Dottie Couture because, duh, they’re my favorite. This tunic has sold out once already, so make sure you snag it this time around. I normally wear a size small, but I got a medium to make it would fit more like a dress so I could wear it with or without leggings. The leatherette leggings are amazing quality and seriously look good with everything.

I hope y’all had a fantastic weekend. Thanks for reading! 🙂

DRESS: Sold out / Similar

VEST: Dottie Couture

BOOTS: Charlotte Russe

HAT: Charlotte Russe

BOOT SOCKS: Target

I am definitely mad for plaid this fall! After we shot this outfit, we decided to go check out the Pearl Brewery Farmer’s Market. If you haven’t checked it out yet, I highly suggest you do! It was our first time going and it was the perfect little day date. We assumed that because it is a farmer’s market, pets wouldn’t be allowed, but when we got there several people had their dogs.  The market has a bunch of different vendors, live music, and delicious fresh food and drinks. I got a blueberry lemon filled coffee cake ring, as well as a freshly squeezed lemonade, and it was amazing. Tyler got a chicken florentine crepe that we split. It was a perfect, cool morning, but it started to heat up as noon approached so I decided not to wear the hat or vest.

The dress is sold out, but Dottie has a similar dress that comes with a belt AND it’s on sale! Who doesn’t love a sale?! The dress is originally $56 and is on sale for $30. They also just added a Similar dress and it is very cute! This vest is a must for your wardrobe. It is lined with faux fur and is seriously the softest! You can wear it with almost any outfit and is perfect to layer on those chilly days. The hat is another must for your wardrobe, as it adds statement to almost any outfit. Even if you think you can’t pull off hats, I would try this hat out. I have never personally been a hat person, but once you find the right hat and angle, you’ll fall in love. The boots are one of my favorites. I got them when Charlotte Russe was having an amazing sale: buy one pair of shoes, and get the second for $10. I got another pair of the same value, so I got these amazing boots for only 10 bucks!! They are also currently available online for $25. I highly recommend shopping at Charlotte Russe for your shoes. They always have amazing deals and adorable shoes. Currently all of their shoes are $25 or less! I like to wear boot socks with my “knee high boots” because my knees look a little funky and squished. The ones I’m wearing are currently on sale for less than $2, and are extremely soft and comfy.

SUGAR SKULL: Tesoros

Today is the start of ‘Dia de los Muertos’, also know as ‘Day of the Dead’. This holiday is definitely one of my favorites! The first time I saw a Sugar Skull, I was really intrigued. I started researching them and really fell in love with the holiday! I just love the idea of everyone coming together and remembering the ones that we have lost. Ever since, my obsession for finding and collecting anything and everything sugar skull related has only grown (and has gotten a little out of hand lol).

I got this tank top at the Pecan Street Festival in Austin, Texas. It is a festival that happens twice a year on 6th street, which was previously known as ‘Pecan St.’ This year was our first time going and it was amazing! There were a plethora of vendors, all unique in their own way, as well as an unbelievable amount of delicious food and drinks.

The leatherette skirt and leggings are from Dottie Couture Boutique, and both are fabulous quality. Dottie is having a 20% off sale today (use code SPOOKY)! I hope y’all had a great Halloween weekend! 🙂

WHAT YOU NEED:

Medium pumpkin

Small pumpkin

White paint

Gold paint

Pink paint

Yellow paint

Orange paint

Purple paint

small paint brush

medium paint brush

This is my first year painting a pumpkin instead of carving one! Definitely a little weird, though still just as fun. Tyler carved one so we still got to bake the yummy seeds. I decided to do a Sugar Skull, because I’m obsessed with them, and Dia de los Muertos is right around the corner, I thought why not! It ended up being easy, and turned out really cute. First, I painted the entire pumpkin white and did 3 coats to get it the way I liked it. Make sure you let it dry completely between each coat! Once the pumpkin dried, I painted two black circles for the eyes and did two coats for those. As that was drying, I painted a black heart upside down for the nose and a flower above the eyes, I did two coats for those as well. Then, I drew a line across the bottom for the mouth and did little humps for the teeth. Once I was done with that, I painted pink flowers inside the black circles and painted purple humps around the outside. Next, I drew swirls over the eyes with yellow paint and a heart between the eyes with 3 dots ascending in size. After that, I outline the mouth with orange paint and added some dots to the swirls and filled the hearts and dots. Finally I painted a black dot in the middle of each flower!

I was still feeling a little crafty, so I decided to paint the small pumpkin I got as well. For that one I painted two white coats of paint (make sure it drys completely between each coat). I then painted the stem gold, and did two coats for that as well. Finally I free handed our apartment number with the same gold paint, and did three coats for that. Super easy and adds a little sparkle to your front porch! Happy Halloween 🙂
