Happy Friday everyone! I hope your week has been amazing. Part 2 is going to be a combination of the 2 days that we went snowboarding. On our second day in Pagosa Springs we went snowboarding at Wolf Creek Ski Area. It is most known for having the most snowfall in Colorado! Luckily for us, my brother and sister-in-law let us borrow their snowboards, which saved us a good bit of money. The first day it was snowing pretty good the entire time we were there and unfortunately we forgot one of our pairs of googles, so Tyler’s eyelashes were pretty frozen the entire time. Our car was crazy covered in snow when we got back to it! I had only snowboarded one other time than this exactly one year ago, so I was pretty nervous. Getting off the lift is always the scariest part for me, but by the second half of the second day I was doing it like a pro (which for me is if I don’t fall lol).

This was our first time at Wolf Creek and we absolutely loved it! All of the staff was so friendly and the slopes were a blast. I definitely should have hit the gym before we left because snowboarding is such a work out! Especially when you fall as much as I do, haha. The second day was seriously stunning! The sun was out, it wasn’t snowing, and we had both pairs of goggles. It was perfect! The sky on the way home was so beautiful. I really love how amazing the Colorado Sky looks at night. So different from at home in Texas! We are in the process of putting together a video from the trip that I can’t wait to share with y’all. 🙂

Part 3 will include a list of essentials and tips for the snow, so be sure to check back! Have a wonderful weekend! 🙂

Happy Tuesday! Christmas is just 3 days away and I’m seriously so excited and overwhelmed at the same time. We are leaving in a week for Pagosa Springs, Colorado (another reason why I’m so overwhelmed) and we could not be more excited for some actual Winter weather. This jacket is definitely getting packed for our trip. The quality is seriously amazing, as it is perfect for layering, and Dottie Couture still has some small sizes left! I’m loving anything that’s olive green this season, especially jackets, so linked below are a few of my favorite.

JOY CANDLE STICKS

WHAT YOU NEED:

Burlap

3 Wood blocks

White paint

Black paint

Hot glue gun

Candle sticks (got mine from the dollar store)

Wooden candle stick toppers

↓↓↓

STEP 1: Paint all candle stick parts black (I did 2 coats). As that dries sand down the 3 wooden blocks and cut burlap to fit each block.

STEP 2: Paint each block on the burlap letters to spell out the word ‘JOY’ (I did 3 coats). Once dried, glue each block to the glass candle sticks.

STEP 3: Glue on the candle stick tops to the wooden blocks.

LET IT SNOW SIGN

WHAT YOU NEED:

Large wood plank (or plank you used for ‘give thanks’ project)

White paint

Blue paint

Silver paint pen

Stencil

↓↓↓

STEP 1: Sand board to liking and paint blue. I used the other side of my ‘Give Thanks’ board I made for Thanksgiving. I mixed the blue and white paint to get the exact color I wanted it. (2 coats)

STEP 2: Use stencils to paint ‘let is snow’. Once dried, use small brush to touch up and add 2nd coat.

STEP 3: Paint on snow flakes. I used a small brush and silver paint pen to do this.

XMAS CENTER PIECE

This is seriously SO easy and will cost you less than $5! I bought everything I used at the dollar store. All you need is a glass container of your choice, ornaments of your choice, and individual fake plants. The dollar store has plenty of options for all three of these things! Just fill the glass container with ornaments and then stick in 2-3 plants of your liking.

ALL FLAKES WELCOME SIGN

flakes

This is another really easy craft to add to your home this season! I used a piece of scrap wood and painted it green first, then added the white ‘humps’ at the bottom (3 coats). Once they dried I added the eyes, noses, and flakes. Lastly, I painted out ‘ALL FLAKES WELCOME’ with a fine brush. This was my first time not using stencils and I’m actually happy with the outcome. You can hang this on your front door, in your home, or place it on a shelf.

WINE GLASS CANDLE STICKS

wine

Who would have thought I could find another use for wine glasses besides filling them to the rim with wine lol. I got these from the Dollar Store and they are actually pretty great quality. The candles and ornaments are from the Dollar Store as well, so this project cost me less than $5! Just fill the glasses with ornaments, flip them upside down and put a candle on top. TA-DA! 🙂

Feel free to email me if you have any questions at all and thank you for reading! Happy Holidays 🙂

10 Things To Do In San Antonio This Holiday Season

This time of year is definitely one of my favorites. There are so many fun holiday events going on, splendid lights everywhere, and christmas music (which I LOVE). I am going to share my bucket list of events I want to go to before the season is over. Comment your favorite event to attend this holiday season! 🙂

1. Santa’s Ranch

scaled.SR-Entrance

Santa’s Ranch is absolutley amazing and you get to drive through the entire ranch so you never even have to get out of your car! It is in New Braunfels, which isn’t a far drive at all from San Antonio, and totally worth it.

2. Pearl Holiday Gift Market

The entire Pearl Brewery area is a real treat during the holidays and it is truly magical! If you’re looking to shop local and get unique gifts for your loved ones this holiday season, look no further! There is also tons of amazing food options so come hungry!

3. San Antonio River Walk

The River Walk is a winter wonderland during the holiday season. It is perfect for a date night or a night downtown with friends. Right across from the River Walk, directly in front of the Alamo, is a giant beautifully lit Christmas tree!

4. Holiday in the Park

Holiday-in-the-Park

If you live in San Antonio, owning a season pass to Fiesta Texas should be a must! The season pass costs slightly more than a single visit and comes with TONS of perks. If you do not own one, they are having a special right now where a 2016 season pass for Holiday in the Park is free! Tyler and I bought ours last year and have gotten so much use out of it. This event makes for a perfect date night!

5. Christmas at the Caverns

920x920

If y0u haven’t visited the Natural Bridge Caverns yet, you must! It is truly an amazing site to see. During the holidays, the park is lit up all over with lights along with underground christmas shows! They also have a ton of above ground holiday attractions.

6. A Wonderland Christmas

This event will be a new one for us this season. We have passed by this theme park so many times since we moved to the outskirts of San Antonio (Live Oak). I honestly never even knew of this park until a couple months ago. While doing some online research, I found that it’s a very popular holiday event for the park! Check out all of the activities they have to offer by clicking the link above the picture.

7. Holidays in Bloom

poinsettias_conservatory

This is the PERFECT place to take holiday pictures. You will be blown away by all of the amazing colors during this season’s bloom. They have giant checkers, tons of christmas lights, and much more. 38 acres of true beauty!

8.Holiday Arts and Craft Show

This event is also on the amazing River Walk and is taking place this weekend only! There will be TONS of vendors selling unique gifts to share this holiday season!

9.Don Strange Ranch

12250175_1091557604196899_2953192543691862038_n

This will be another first for us this holiday season and I’ve heard amazing reviews about this place. The ranch is about 40 minutes from downtown San Antonio. It’s main holiday attraction is a scenic route with thousands of lights that stretches 2 miles long; truly a winter wonderland.

10. Light up Downtown

12190977_544361005714669_1652560403082649473_n

This is San Antonio’s 5th annual Light Up Downtown event. It is a contest for all buildings downtown, big and small, to compete with each other for the best and brightest holiday display. You are able to vote which building is your favorite and the building with the most votes is declared winner. This event makes for a PERFECT date night. Make some homemade hot coco or pick up your favorite latte from your local coffee shop and drive around downtown picking out your favorite buildings.
