LEGGINGS: Dottie Couture

SHOES: Dottie Couture

We had a camping trip planned for this past weekend, but unfortunately the weather forced us to cancel our plans. I was so excited to spend a weekend outdoors and to get some mountain biking in. I got my first migraine Saturday morning and it was absolutely one of the worst pains I’ve ever had! Thank goodness Tyler was home to take care of me until it passed. He really is amazing! 🙂

Sunday turned out to be a gorgeous day, so we decided to have a day date on the River Walk. We got a table right along the river; it was perfect! We even made a little duck friend, who was very persistent on having some of our lunch. The weather finally got below 70 degrees, so I wore my favorite leatherette leggings and a distressed tunic. It was so amazing to finally be able to wear long sleeves and pants and not get hot by mid-day. Fall has finally arrived in San Antonio and I am THRILLED! 🙂 This entire outfit is from Dottie Couture because, duh, they’re my favorite. This tunic has sold out once already, so make sure you snag it this time around. I normally wear a size small, but I got a medium to make it would fit more like a dress so I could wear it with or without leggings. The leatherette leggings are amazing quality and seriously look good with everything.

I hope y’all had a fantastic weekend. Thanks for reading! 🙂

DRESS: Sold out / Similar

VEST: Dottie Couture

BOOTS: Charlotte Russe

HAT: Charlotte Russe

BOOT SOCKS: Target

I am definitely mad for plaid this fall! After we shot this outfit, we decided to go check out the Pearl Brewery Farmer’s Market. If you haven’t checked it out yet, I highly suggest you do! It was our first time going and it was the perfect little day date. We assumed that because it is a farmer’s market, pets wouldn’t be allowed, but when we got there several people had their dogs.  The market has a bunch of different vendors, live music, and delicious fresh food and drinks. I got a blueberry lemon filled coffee cake ring, as well as a freshly squeezed lemonade, and it was amazing. Tyler got a chicken florentine crepe that we split. It was a perfect, cool morning, but it started to heat up as noon approached so I decided not to wear the hat or vest.

The dress is sold out, but Dottie has a similar dress that comes with a belt AND it’s on sale! Who doesn’t love a sale?! The dress is originally $56 and is on sale for $30. They also just added a Similar dress and it is very cute! This vest is a must for your wardrobe. It is lined with faux fur and is seriously the softest! You can wear it with almost any outfit and is perfect to layer on those chilly days. The hat is another must for your wardrobe, as it adds statement to almost any outfit. Even if you think you can’t pull off hats, I would try this hat out. I have never personally been a hat person, but once you find the right hat and angle, you’ll fall in love. The boots are one of my favorites. I got them when Charlotte Russe was having an amazing sale: buy one pair of shoes, and get the second for $10. I got another pair of the same value, so I got these amazing boots for only 10 bucks!! They are also currently available online for $25. I highly recommend shopping at Charlotte Russe for your shoes. They always have amazing deals and adorable shoes. Currently all of their shoes are $25 or less! I like to wear boot socks with my “knee high boots” because my knees look a little funky and squished. The ones I’m wearing are currently on sale for less than $2, and are extremely soft and comfy.

Yesterday we went on one of our many family hikes at Comanche Lookout Park. I lived in San Antonio for 4 years during college and never even knew of this park until I moved back. Not only is this park a beauty, but it has history! This park has the 4th highest point in Bexar County, which was used by Native Americans for warfare and hunting. One of the lookout posts still remains and is an awesome sight to see.

This park has both paved and non-paved trails, and a good number of benches to sit and enjoy the views. This park is dog friendly, which is a must for us! One of the reasons I hate going to the gym, is the fact that I have to leave our dogs (children) at home. I almost always turn my hikes into a more intense workout, so I can be with the dogs :). Working out with your dogs outside not only makes it more fun, but it makes it feel like less of a work out. Our normal route is to take the non paved path to the right of the main entrance. It is elevated and takes you right up to a pretty cool view with a bench if you need a rest.

A bit farther past the bench is a paved path, off to the right, where I do 50 lunges. I can definitely already feel the burn at this point! As you continue past the lookout post, there are some straight-a-ways that are good for sprinting and racing the pups. Layla is almost 9 months old, so she is a big ball of energy right now. Any chance she gets to run and chase us, she takes it and absolutely loves it. I usually try to do at least 5 20-second sprints each hike.

The highest point at this park has some benches to sit and relax and enjoy the spectacular views. I do 50 more lunges on the route back to the car. If you’re looking for more of a challenge, do your lunges on the non paved paths! Comment your favorite spots to hike in San Antonio! Thanks for reading! 🙂
